Back To School

Its that time of year for kiddies to head back to school and get everything back in gear, yes the sandals are packed away til next year.  Tank tops get packed away and sweatshirts come out to play. Oh my I made a rhyme how talented am I.  I layed out kids clothes last night everyone had shorts and shirts and by this morning after not really sleeping with all the wind and trees bustling about I suddenly realized I needed to replace the shorts with jeans and add spring coats to the mix. Only in MN!! No one was interested in having school pictures from Mom taken outside in the am only to look back on them and wonder if there was a tropical storm about with the wind, so my liking they agreed for a pic in the kitchen..You'll notice I asked each of them to represent the grade they were entering and Garret was not cooperating so Gretta put in her 5 for him that's my girl always for her Mamas back. Maggie's not going into school shes just hanging out with Connor as always.. :0 I already miss them sniffle, sniffle...

KISS

Saturday was an epic day for Connor, he started out his day with his CC Practice..Then haircuts for the whole family...then home for some quick lunch and waiting for me (mom) to figure out what she all needed.  Then off we were stopping in Owatonna for some yummy Pumpkin Spice Latte at Starbucks only to be greeted by a super weird dude at the drive in.. Back on the road me (mom) stopping at medford outlet mall for some new tennies figured I could really break them in at the State Fair right? Connor saying to me "no more stops please" I agreed :) Arriving up in cities on Labor Day weekend was nuts paper said Sat at fair was highest population ever recorded nice huh.  Weather was awesome could not have asked for a better day.  Is it just me or do other people get frantic when you are shoulder to shoulder with complete strangers fighting over bathroom stalls, or trying to find food.  I should have had Connor ride on my shoulders for the look out.  Needless to say there is some kind of organization being run at the fair where everything is $20.00 no joke, parking, food etc.. Anyways I know get to the point of this blog well we went to see KISS which if you were lucky enough to be a part of was amazing, totally rad and any other awesome sayings I cant think of now. End to a great night with a bucket of $15.00 choc chip Martha Cookies we had to have and there are 2 left had to bring other kiddies home something right.  Fireworks over Grandstand after concert as we raced back to the van trying to avoid Grandstand crowd pummelling us..yea we made it and what a fantastic night full of memories...

Well Cross Country Season is upon us now. Connor's first meet was in Austin. I'll set the scene, dark cloudy skies, storms were rolling in and the C Squad was set on starting line, gun fired and off they went. One of the Coaches ran threw the parents warning all of us if they were to blow the air horn that meant meet is off and head for vehicles and buses immediately. Which to no avail happened so non the less Connor did not get to finish his run.. I think he worked up more of a sweat at practices than the time he actually got to run this day. What can you do with Mother Nature!!
